Terms and conditions

Here you will find the rules for using the stridebytes.com website. They are not a services contract: we agree each project separately, in writing, through an accepted quote or a signed contract.

3. Scope of these terms

These terms set out the rules for using the site. They apply to anyone who visits the site, whether or not they become a client. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The site presents our studio and the services we offer:

  • business websites;
  • redesign;
  • maintenance, on a monthly or yearly subscription;
  • custom web applications;
  • QA and test automation.

On the site you can find out who we are and what we do, see examples of our work and send us a message through the contact form. The site has no user accounts, and you cannot buy, order or pay for anything through it.

We contract our services separately. After a conversation about the project you receive a written quote, and our collaboration begins only once you accept the quote in writing or we sign a contract. The contract sets out, among other things, what we deliver, the deadlines, the price, the payment method and the rights to the work. If the provisions of the contract differ from these terms, the contract applies to the services concerned.

4. How you use the site

You can use the site free of charge and without an account. Please use it lawfully, in good faith and without affecting its operation or the experience of other visitors.

You may not:

  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site, to the servers that host it or to other people’s data;
  • attack the site or disrupt its operation, for example by flooding it with requests (DoS attacks), with malicious code or with automated vulnerability scans carried out without our consent;
  • automatically extract the site’s content (scraping) in large volumes or in order to republish it, except for ordinary indexing by search engines;
  • use the contact form for spam, unsolicited advertising, automatically sent messages or illegal, offensive or malicious content;
  • impersonate another person or send us someone else’s data without being entitled to do so;
  • circumvent our measures against spam and abuse.

Through the form, send us only the information we need in order to reply to you. Do not send us passwords, card details or sensitive data, such as health information.

If these rules are broken, we may ignore or delete the messages concerned, take technical measures to block the source of the abuse and, where the law requires or allows it, report the matter to the authorities.

If you discover a security problem on the site, please write to us at contact@stridebytes.com before making it public.

5. Intellectual property

The content of the site is protected by Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights. Unless stated otherwise, the following belong to us:

  • the texts;
  • the design and layout of the pages, the illustrations and the graphic elements;
  • the source code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript);
  • the Stridebytes name and logo, as distinctive signs of our business.

The Newsreader and Hanken Grotesk fonts are open source fonts, used in accordance with their licences.

The Vendo Events screenshots show our own product, developed by us. The photos, names and descriptions of the suppliers that appear in these screenshots belong to those suppliers or to the holders of the rights to them. Vendo Events has its own separate website, vendoevents.ro, with its own terms and policies.

The SAL pictogram in the footer of the pages is the official graphic element of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), displayed in accordance with ANPC President’s Order no. 449/2022, as subsequently amended.

Forma and Casa dintre vii are demonstration concepts that we created for fictional brands. They are not projects carried out for clients and have no connection with real companies that may have similar names.

When we mention the names or show the logos of companies whose projects we have contributed to, we do so for information only, to describe our experience. The names, logos and other trade marks of these companies belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not mean that we are affiliated with those companies or that they endorse our services.

You may read, print or save the site’s pages for personal use or to assess working with us, and you may share links to the site. Except for uses permitted by law, such as short quotations with the source acknowledged, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or publish the content or code of the site without our prior written consent.

The rights to the work we produce for clients (websites, applications, code, texts, graphics) are set out in the contract with each client. These terms do not govern them.

If you have reason to believe that something on the site infringes your rights, write to us at contact@stridebytes.com and we will look into your report.

6. The information on the site is not an offer

The descriptions of our services, the examples, the stages of work, the timeframes and any price shown on the site are general information. Under Article 1189 of the Romanian Civil Code, a proposal addressed to unspecified persons does not constitute an offer but, depending on the circumstances, an invitation to make an offer or a declaration of intent to negotiate. The information on the site is therefore an invitation to talk and to negotiate, not an offer to enter into a contract.

Sending us a message through the form does not create a contract or any obligation for you or for us. We will reply, but we may decide not to take on a project.

The binding terms, that is, what we deliver, in what timeframe and at what price, are set only in the written quote we send you and in the contract we conclude.

We do our best to keep the information on the site correct and up to date, but it may contain mistakes or be out of date. If it differs from the written quote or the contract, the quote or the contract, as the case may be, prevails.

7. Prices

Prices shown on the site are in lei (RON) and include VAT. We are registered for VAT (VAT number RO43994817), and VAT is applied in accordance with the Romanian Tax Code. The price and currency for each project are those in the written quote.

  • If you are a consumer, the price in the quote is in lei and is the final price, VAT included.
  • If you are a trader, the quote shows the price both without and with VAT, and VAT is added when we invoice, in accordance with the law.

A starting price shown on the site, such as “from X lei”, is indicative: it shows where the simplest projects start. The final price depends on the number of pages, the content and the features, and we set it in the written quote.

The payment method and payment terms are set out in the contract. We may change the prices shown on the site at any time. A change does not affect quotes already sent, while they remain valid, or contracts already concluded.

8. If you are a consumer

Most of our clients are companies. If, however, we enter into a contract with you as a consumer, you have all the rights the law gives you, and these terms do not limit them.

Right of withdrawal

If we conclude the contract at a distance (for example, only by email or by phone, without meeting) or off our business premises, you have the right of withdrawal provided for by OUG no. 34/2014 on consumer rights in contracts concluded with traders. In short:

  • You can withdraw from the contract within 14 days, without giving us a reason. The period runs from the day the contract is concluded.
  • We start work within these 14 days only at your express request, made on a durable medium, for example by email.
  • If you asked us to start and then withdraw, you pay us only an amount proportionate to the part of the contract we performed before you informed us of your withdrawal.
  • You lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, if the work began with your prior express consent and you acknowledged that you would lose this right once the service was fully performed.
  • To withdraw, send us a clear statement, for example an email to contact@stridebytes.com, or the model withdrawal form. We refund the amounts you paid, minus the proportionate amount above where applicable, no later than 14 days after the day you informed us.

Before we conclude the contract, we send you, together with the written quote, full information about the right of withdrawal and the model withdrawal form provided for by OUG no. 34/2014. You receive them on paper or, if you agree, on another durable medium, for example by email.

9. Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”, for information purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep it working well and its information correct, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times, without interruptions or without errors.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • temporary unavailability of the site, for example because of maintenance work, problems at the hosting provider or network failures;
  • the content and operation of external websites run by others, which our links lead to;
  • decisions taken solely on the basis of the general information on the site, without a conversation with us and without a written quote;
  • damage caused by using the site in breach of these terms.

External links open in a new tab. External websites, including vendoevents.ro, have their own terms and policies, which apply when you use them.

We do not exclude or limit liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, because Article 1355 of the Civil Code does not allow this. Nor do we exclude or limit any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you. Any provision that would contravene Law no. 193/2000 on unfair terms in contracts concluded between traders and consumers does not apply to you.

Our liability for contracted services is set out in the contract.

10. Personal data and cookies

When you contact us through the form, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp, we process your personal data in order to reply to you. The Privacy Policy explains what data we process, for what purpose, on what legal basis, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

The site does not use cookies, nor any analytics or advertising tools. The details are in the Cookie Policy.

11. Complaints and dispute resolution

If you are unhappy with something, write to us first at contact@stridebytes.com and describe the problem. We will reply in writing and look for an amicable solution together with you.

If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you in writing, by email, which alternative dispute resolution (SAL) entity is competent and whether we agree to take part in the SAL procedure. In that case, you can:

  • contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), Bd. Aviatorilor nr. 72, sector 1, 011865 București;
  • use alternative dispute resolution (SAL), governed by OG no. 38/2015, through the ANPC platform: reclamatiisal.anpc.ro;
  • bring the matter before the competent court.

The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was closed on 20 July 2025, so we do not include it among these options.

The SAL procedure is intended for consumers. Between traders, disputes that we do not resolve amicably go to the competent court, in accordance with the next section.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and the use of the site are governed by Romanian law.

Between traders, we may agree on the competent court in the contract with each client. Without such a written agreement, jurisdiction is determined in accordance with the Romanian Code of Civil Procedure.

If you are a consumer, you benefit from the jurisdiction rules that protect you, for example the option of bringing proceedings before the court where you live, under the conditions laid down by law. In relation to you, a choice-of-court clause is valid only if we agree on it after the dispute has arisen. If you live in another Member State of the European Union, the choice of Romanian law does not deprive you of the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

13. Force majeure

Neither we nor you are liable for failing to perform, or for delaying, an obligation because of force majeure, that is, an external, unforeseeable, absolutely insurmountable and unavoidable event (Article 1351 of the Civil Code). For example, natural disasters, war, epidemics or large-scale cyber attacks may be cases of force majeure, if they meet these conditions. For contracted services, force majeure is dealt with in accordance with the contract.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we change the site or our services, or when the law changes. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the version number and the date of the last update shown at the top of the page.

A new version applies from the date it is published on the site. It does not change quotes already sent or contracts already concluded, which remain subject to the terms agreed.

Version history:

  • Version 1.0, 15 October 2026: first version.
